YARD WASTE PICKUP

YARD WASTE PICKUP

It is that time of year when yard work is in full swing. Please finish the yard work by packaging the yard waste so that Waste Pro will collect it. Neighbors are noticing yard waste piling up in gutters and on the street. The trash collection company, Waste Pro, will not pick up the piles. Waste Pro will pick up yard waste that is bundled up, put into bags and/or trash cans, and placed at the curb for collection on Wednesdays.

Also, please keep the sidewalks free of overgrowth such as palm fronds, bushes, or grass.

Seminole County guidelines: https://www.seminolecountyfl.gov/departments-services/environmental-services/solid-waste-management/residential-collection-guidelines.stml

  • Yard waste may include tree branches, grass clippings, palm fronds, Christmas trees, etc:
  • Yard waste must be in a trash can or bag, or tied in a bundle. Paper bags are preferred over plastic bags; plastic bags get tangled in machinery and contaminate the mulch that is produced.
  • Each can, bag, or bundle must not exceed 50 gallons in size or 50 pounds in weight.
  • Natural trees longer/ taller than 8 feet must be cut in half.
  • Bundles must not exceed 4 feet in length.
  • Branches should not exceed 4 inches in diameter; please cut larger branches.
  • Large stumps or branches from tree removal should be brought to the Seminole County Landfill.
  • Live (real) Christmas trees are collected each Wednesday after Christmas Day through the end of January.
  • Artificial (fake) trees will be collected with your bulk pick-up on your second collection day of the week. You do not need to notify Seminole County or your hauler in advance for this pick-up.
  • Ornaments and lights must be removed.
  • Residents are not required to subscribe to yard waste in order to have their live Christmas tree picked up.

Thank you!
