Online shipping is higher than ever this year, and that means many will have packages waiting on their door steps. Take care to monitor these package deliveries, and bring them inside as soon as possible to avoid theft. Consider also having your packages delivered to a friend, your work, or having them held at a local shipping retail office for pickup. All major shipping couriers offer delivery service options designed for convince and to avoid theft, via the Fedex Delivery Manager, UPS’ My Choice, or USPS Package Intercept services. Additionally, Amazon offers their Amazon Locker service to receive and return packages, with many near by locations.
Longwood PD has issued the following Intelligence Bulletin about a incident elsewhere in the city on December 5th, 2017. If you have any information, please contact LPD.
Be safe this holiday season, and also remember to break down boxes when discarding or recycling them in a way that conceals what they contained to avoid being targeted.
UPDATE
