Publix Brings its Community Based Store to Longwood!
A developer has approached the City of Longwood concerning the redevelopment of the property located at 675 Longwood Hills Road. Currently, the commercially zoned property is home to the New Assembly of God church. The property will be owned by Publix and transformed into a less than 30,000 square foot grocery store. The purpose of the store is to serve an expanding Longwood community, while offering its Green-Wise brand and a delivery component. The site was selected due to the lack of service to a growing area that has recently added an additional 160 plus single-family homes.
The Community Development Department of Longwood is awaiting the site plans and have scheduled a Citizen’s Awareness Participation Plan meeting (CAPP) for March 7th at 6:00 pm in the Longwood Community Building. Representatives from Publix, the developer and the City will be present to share and answer questions.
